Sheldon Volleyball
The Fighting Irish are coached by Head Coach Kandice Feola who is in her fifth year of coaching at Sheldon. In 2006 Kandice coached the Junior Varsity, and assumed her role as Head Varsity Coach in 2007. Last season the Irish won their Southwestern Conference and then went on to earn a 4th place trophy at the State Tournament which is the highest Sheldon has ever finished, and brought home another Sportsmanship Trophy
The Varsity team will be returning 10 outstanding athletes including 1st Team All-League, Senior Libero Allison Davies, 2nd Team All-League, Team Most Inspirational Senior hitter Audrey Smith, 2nd Team All-League Defensive Specialist Senior Megan Eckrich, 2nd Team All-League Junior Middle Natalee Godfrey, Seniors Haley Barrong, Ashley Krause, Taylor Miles, Junior Natalie Kruska and Sophomores Sam Rouleau and Shelby McCool.
The Irish are further supported by Junior Varsity Coach Anna Barton who will be entering her fifth year with the Irish as well. Anna is a Sheldon graduate and volleyball alumni who began her coaching career in 2006 and assumed her role as JV Head Coach in 2007. Anna is also the head of our Strength and Conditioning programs, which makes her solely responsible for our endurance and superior fitness.
The Junior Varsity team is assisted by Amanda Walsh who is also in her fifth year with the Irish. We owe her our sanity and gratitude for the consistent support and advice she offers to all 3 teams.
Norm Combs will be entering his 10th year with the Irish and is undoubtedly the glue that keeps this program together. He handles the JV2 team with high expectations and technical coaching that sets us up for continued success year after year. We are very fortunate!
